Install the .deb with sudo apt install ./LabelInn-Linux.deb. It also adds a udev rule so USB label printers open without root.

Windows

Run the downloaded LabelInn-Setup.exe file
Follow the installation wizard
Launch the application and sign in

macOS

Open the downloaded .pkg installer
Follow the installation wizard
LabelInn will be installed to your Applications folder
Launch LabelInn and sign in

Linux

Ubuntu or Debian: in the folder you downloaded to, run sudo apt install ./LabelInn-Linux.deb
Other distributions: run chmod +x LabelInn-Linux.AppImage, then open the file
Launch LabelInn from the applications menu and sign in
USB printers: the .deb installs the udev rule they need. The AppImage cannot install it, so for USB printers the .deb is the easier choice

Is there a free label printing app for Windows 10?

Yes. LabelInn runs on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). The free plan prints unlimited labels and includes the designer, templates and cloud sync. The Windows installer needs administrator rights because it also sets up the print driver and a background helper service.

Which systems can I download LabelInn for?

Windows 10 or later (64-bit), macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later, Linux on 64-bit PCs (a .deb for Ubuntu 22.04+ and Debian 12+, and an AppImage for other distributions), and Android 12 or later from Google Play. An iOS app is not publicly available yet; use the waitlist on this page.

Do I need to install a driver for my thermal printer?

LabelInn connects to Zebra, TSC, Toshiba and Epson label printers over USB or the network and sends the printer's own language, so no separate vendor driver is needed for printing from LabelInn.

Can I use LabelInn on a Mac?

Yes. The macOS app uses the same account and designs. Some things differ on macOS, for example SQL database sources are Windows-only. See label printing software for Mac.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free account is needed to print and save labels. You can create it on the website or in the app after installing; new accounts get a 14-day trial of the paid features.
