Frequently asked questions
Why does 203 dpi appear as 8 dots per millimetre?
203 dpi divided by 25.4 is 7.99, which manufacturers round to 8 dots per millimetre. This calculator uses the exact value, so it agrees with what the printer actually does.
Why does my measurement not land on a whole dot?
Most do not. The printer rounds to the nearest dot, and the rounding error row shows how far that moves the edge in millimetres.
