Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this?
It is an estimate from roll geometry. Winding tension and liner thickness variation typically move the real figure by a few percent, so treat it as a planning number.
Where do I find the material thickness?
The label supplier's datasheet lists it, usually as a combined caliper for the face stock plus liner. Around 0.15 mm is common for paper labels.
What is the core diameter?
The inner cardboard tube, commonly 25.4 mm, 38 mm or 76 mm. Measure the inside, not the outside.
