The thermal printer market has two halves. One is the established names — Zebra, TSC, Honeywell, SATO. The other is a very large group of manufacturers, mostly Chinese, selling capable hardware at a fraction of the price: Xprinter, Gprinter, HPRT, iDPRT, Rongta, Zjiang, Beeprt, Postek, Munbyn, Phomemo and dozens more.
The software situation for that second half is grim. You get a bundled utility that is Windows-only, often untranslated, usually incapable of importing a spreadsheet, and with no way to connect it to a shop or an ERP.

Why cheap printers are not the problem
Nearly all of these manufacturers implement an existing command language instead of inventing one. In practice that means TSPL (the TSC language) or ZPL (the Zebra language), sometimes both. That is deliberate on their part — it makes their hardware a drop-in replacement.
It also means the hardware is far more capable than the bundled software suggests. A ₺1,500 Xprinter accepts the same GS1-128, Data Matrix and serialised output as a printer costing twenty times more. The gap is the software, not the printhead.
